If you already own a domain name and wish it to be hosted for
free, then Doteasy's free hosting package is ideal. They provide
100MB disk storage space, a 1GB monthly data transfer limit,
10 free e-mail accounts, free customer service and also a Web
site designing tool that's great for beginners unfamiliar with
HTML and Web site creation software.

GeoCities
Now under Yahoo!'s command, this is the Internet's largest free
home page provider. Here, you will receive 15MB of Web space
plus a short URL resembling something similar to: "www.geocities.com/yourname".
New users will find their online Web site creating tool useful
and there's even an option to upload custom designs. However,
FTP access is no longer supported here.
Tripod
Owned by Lycos, Tripod is probably the second largest free homepage
provider. Despite its popularity, we've never been really impressed
with the overall quality of their hosting. Tripod's free services
are advert supported and you may choose between pop-ups or embedded
adverts when registering. 20MB of space is offered here, along
with an online page creator (ideal for beginners).
Angelfire
Here's another veteran free Web page provider, brought to you
by the search-giant, Lycos. Angelfire provides users with a
generous 20MB of storage space, online site building tools and
has plenty of goodies to help you announce your Internet home
to the world.
Megspace
Offers 50MB Web space, unlimited bandwidth, no monthly fees,
free add-ons (e.g. message boards), fast servers, a site upload
manager and professional technical support. Please note that
you are required to display a banner advertisement on your pages,
in exchange for the free service they are providing. Your URL
here would resemble: "megspace.com/business/username".
Bravenet
Bravenet's free Web hosting package provides 50MB storage space,
a 1.5GB monthly data transfer limit along with FTP access via
your Web browser. Please note that this service is supported
by advertisements. Bravenet also provide a truckload of other
free Webmaster tools, including free guestbooks, free hit counter
services, free chat rooms, mailing lists, polls, etc.
Freeservers
Freeservers.com offers short, easy to remember sub-domains and
e-mail accounts, such as "yoursite.freeservers.com"
(and many more besides). They provide 12MB of free Web space,
e-mail forwarding and also various page building tools that
are ideal for new Webmasters. Please note: the service is ad-supported
and no longer offers direct FTP access.
FortuneCity
FortuneCity.com offers 25 megabytes of free Web space to all
of its members and also provides a number of free Web building
tools, which are easy to use for beginners, but also sophisticated
enough for advanced Webmasters. Their free e-mail service is
no longer available. Includes FTP access and basic tech-support.
